The Duke Energy Foundation Supports Economic and Financial Literacy Efforts

Raleigh, N.C. –– The North Carolina Council on Economic Education (NCCEE) announced today that it has received a $5,000 contribution from the Duke Energy Foundation in support of the NCCEE’s economic and financial literacy efforts for North Carolina’s educators and students.  The NCCEE provides no-cost staff development workshops for North Carolina's K-12 teachers at which attendees receive resources, standards-based curricula, and training.  The NCCEE also sponsors statewide academic competitions designed to engage students in fun ways that incorporate 21st Century Skills.

“Duke Energy values a strong commitment to our communities,” said J. Bryant Kinney, Vice President of Regulatory and Government Relations. “The purpose of this contribution is to assist with the general operating expenses while the NCCEE works to continue its mission of providing training and curriculum to K-12 North Carolina educators and continuing to provide hands-on programs for the North Carolina students.”
