CONGRATULATIONS STATE CHAMPIONS IN THE 2010 ECONOMICS CHALLENGE!

Students from The North Carolina School of Science and Math win the NC Economics Challenge State Championship. Student teams from high schools across the state competed in an on-line challenge to qualify as finalists who then traveled to the Federal Reserve Branch of Richmond, Charlotte Branch to compete for the state championship on April 12.  North Carolina School of Science and Math defeated 4 finalist teams from across the state to be crowned champions of the 2010 North Carolina State Economics Challenge sponsored by the North Carolina Council on Economic Education and its partners, advancing them on to the National Semifinals on April 26, 2010. Teams were required to answer rigorous questions about complex economic concepts and theories of micro- and macroeconomics, international economics, and current events in an oral quiz bowl double elimination tournament style. “We wish them the best of luck in National Semifinals and know that they will do a great job in representing North Carolina,” said Sandy Wheat, executive director of the N.C.
