We had a blast at Kernersville Elementary School on “Family Math and STEM Night” offering hands-on financial literacy activities for grades K-5. 50 people attended and walked through a variety of stations with fun activities. One activity was “Planning for a Pet”, where students allocated 15 “beans” or dollars to obtain supplies needed for their imaginary dog, cat, rabbit etc. We also offered adult resources such as information about how to set up a bank account and rebuild credit. A special thanks to our wonderful volunteers and the school for having us out, helping to boost financial literacy throughout NC!
